About This Trip

This trip is all about exploring the side of Meghalaya that most people never see.

We’re taking an offbeat route with quiet waterfalls, clear natural pools, caves that don’t show up on regular itineraries, and a night of camping right by the river.

The plan is a mix of the usual tourist spots and raw landscapes and slower experiences. You’ll be travelling with a small bunch of easygoing people who are here for good vibes, nature, and a fun journey—not checklists. No crowds, no rush, just fresh air, new trails, and plenty of stories waiting to happen.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati ➝ Khliehriat

(Day 0) Book a flight/train/bus that reaches that lands on 21st December – You can explore Guwahati on your own.
(Day 1) Start early morning from Guwahati. (Around 6-7 AM)
Drive towards the hidden waterfalls along the way and spend time exploring the area.
Continue to Khliehriat.
Overnight stay in Khliehriat.

Day 2: Khliehriat ➝ Jowai

Head out for Krem Chympe Falls – one of Meghalaya’s hidden gems.
Explore the stunning Khaddum Cave.
Drive to Jowai.
Overnight stay in Jowai.

Day 3: Jowai ➝ Shnongpdeng

Visit the scenic Phe Phe Falls in the first half of the day.
Drive to Shnongpdeng, located by the Umngot River.
Check in to Riverside tents.

Day 4: Shnongpdeng ➝ Mawlynnong

Morning water activities (like kayaking, boating, or cliff jumping).
Post lunch, drive to Mawlynnong.
Explore the Living Root Bridge and walk through the cleanest village in Asia.
Overnight stay in Mawlynnong.

Day 4: Mawryngkhang Trek (Bamboo Trail) ➝ Sohra

Start early for the thrilling Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trail trek.
Post trek, drive to Sohra (Cherrapunjee).

Visit Pung Lyer Falls in the morning.

Note on Arrival & Departure

Please plan to arrive in Guwahati on 21st December, as the trip starts early on Day 1 (around 6–7 AM).
On the return day (28th December), make sure to book your flights after 9 PM to avoid any rush.

Why Early Starts?

In Meghalaya, the sun sets around 5 PM, which means daylight hours are limited. To make the most of each day and explore every location comfortably and peacefully, we start early and wrap up early. This helps us cover all the spots without feeling rushed.

🍽️ Meals: Any additional meals not specified in the itinerary and personal expenses are not included.

🏄🏼 Activities & Sightseeing: Entry fees, activity charges, and any other personal expenses are not included unless specifically mentioned in the inclusions. Bamboo Raft at Krem Chympe at ₹1200 (for anyone who wants to go inside the cave) charges can be paid directly. At Shnongpdeng: zipling, kayaking, cliff jumping, snorkelling, charges can be paid directly at the spot if anyone wants to do it.

❓ Miscellaneous: Items not mentioned in the inclusions are the traveller's responsibility.

➕ Additional Services: Porterage at hotels and airports, tips, insurance, laundry, and alcoholic beverages are not covered.

🏥 Natural Calamities: Any costs incurred due to unforeseen events like landslides or roadblocks are not included.

🚎 Transportation: Airfares, train and bus tickets are not part of the package and should be arranged separately.

🩺 Insurance: Health, medical, life, or accidental insurance coverage is not provided and should be arranged by the traveller.

1. Why is this trip priced higher than a typical Meghalaya itinerary?

Our costs are slightly higher because the experience we offer is very different from standard Meghalaya group trips. Here’s what sets it apart:

We follow an offbeat route with a mix of lesser-known locations and a few popular ones.
The itinerary covers more spots than usual—including caves, waterfalls, treks, natural pools and local villages.
We include Asia’s 5th longest cave, an experience that most groups don’t even consider—it’s rare, unique and logistically more demanding.
Stays are arranged on double and triple sharing, ensuring more comfort than the usual dorm-style setups.
This is a Christmas special departure, when accommodation and transport costs are naturally higher.
We keep the group small (12–14 people) to ensure a more personal, engaging and inclusive experience, which also increases the per-person cost.
We also include the Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trail trek, which very few itineraries cover and is a highlight in itself.

If you compare a regular Meghalaya itinerary with ours, you’ll immediately notice how different and experience-focused this one is.

3. What is the fitness level required to join this trip?

This is a long trip with travel almost every day, which can be tiring for some. There are treks and hikes included, which are beginner-friendly, but a good fitness level is a bonus to enjoy the activities comfortably. Basic stamina for walking, climbing stairs, and short hikes will be enough, but if you enjoy being active, you’ll have an even better experience.

4. What kind of accommodation can we expect?

You can expect basic homestays for most nights, offering a comfortable and local experience. One night will be riverside camping in tents, giving you a chance to sleep close to nature under the stars.

5. Is this trip suitable for solo travellers?

Absolutely! Many of our travellers join solo and leave with new friends. Our community-driven experience ensures a friendly and comfortable environment for everyone.

6. Can I extend my stay after the trip?

Yes, if you wish to explore more, we can help you with recommendations and local stay options. Just let us know in advance!

7. Is the group trip safe for female travellers?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We curate a respectful and inclusive travel environment, ensuring all participants feel comfortable. 8. What payment modes are available?

9. Do I need to pay the entire amount while booking?

You can book your spot by paying ₹5000. The rest of the amount can be paid within 7 days of the trip’s starting date.

10. ⁠What is the cancellation policy?

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of the booking amount will be charged as cancellation fees.
If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of the booking amount will be charged as cancellation fees.
If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of the booking amount will be charged as cancellation fees.

11. How do I reach Guwahati?

You can take a flight/train/bus that reaches Guwahati on 21st December.
On 28th December, take a flight/train/bus that departs from Guwahati after 9 PM.

BOOKING CONFIRMATION: To confirm your slot, a deposit of ₹5000 needs to be paid.
FINAL PAYMENT: The outstanding balance must be settled at least 7 days before the trip's commencement. If payment is not completed by this deadline, your reservation may be subject to cancellation.

The company reserves the right to employ alternative transportation or alter the itinerary in the event of breakdowns, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Any resulting additional expenses, such as extra accommodation or transport, will be the responsibility of the client and must be paid directly.

The company is not liable for death, any illness, injury, or loss of property incurred during the trip.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Mandatory insurance covering various unforeseen expenses, including medical costs, baggage loss, and trip cancellation, is required for all clients.
AUTHORITY OF THE TRIP LEADER: Clients agree to abide by the authority and decisions of the trip leader appointed by the company.
Disruptive behaviour may result in expulsion from the trip without a refund, with any associated expenses being the client's responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITY: The organisers and affiliates are not liable for accidents or natural calamities.
